Bilt Rewards now offers free Point.me Award Search

I receive compensation for content and many links on this blog. Citibank is an advertising partner of this site, as are American Express, Chase, Barclays and Capital One. All opinions expressed in this post are my own and have not been reviewed, approved or endorsed by my advertising partners. I’m not writing about all the credit cards available – instead I’m focusing on miles, points and cash back (and currencies that can be converted into the same). Terms and conditions apply to the offers and benefits listed on this page.

Bilt Rewards now has free Point.me award searches right in the app. That way you can see where your Bilt points can take you – either ‘pay with points’ at 1.25 cents each, or transfer their points to an airline partner.

I wrote last week how Point.me, the price search tool, now included results for all major transferable currencies when it searched its website.

  • They find award availability either by how many miles you have or by searching literally almost any program that could be relevant
  • They show you how much a particular award costs booked through different programs (as some frequent flyer programs charge less for the same flight, in miles or taxes or both)
  • And they show you how to transfer the necessary points and complete the booking.

In the Bilt mobile app, below Rewards Select To travel and then perform a flight search by selecting Transfer partners instead of ‘Bilt Travel Portal’.

Point.me is a paid service. But it’s available for free to Bilt Rewards members (a free program!) in the Bilt app.

A few things to keep in mind. The purpose of offering this to Bilt members is to help take advantage of Bilt points. As result,

  • The free point.me integration searches for reward options with Bilt’s 12 airline partners, not all possible airlines that Point.me searches (so it won’t help you with Qantas member-specific reward space, for example, but it’s still quite broad)
  • And by showing your transfer opportunities, you show what you can do with Bilt points and not show you that another currency such as American Express or Capital One can also transfer.
  • Don’t be surprised if commercial booking services decide to use this to avoid paying a monthly fee to Point.me… and be asked to stop, or at least join the Bilt program!

When you search for prices on point.me, they go out and search each loyalty program individually for availability and prices. That might take a while, but they show you results along the way. For now (although I think this will change) the Bilt app doesn’t show results until a search is complete, so it can feel like two minutes for results is a long time.

I really think highly of Point.me. Because they also offer full service concierge bookings, and they do a great job and are built by people I respect immensely, I’ve even worked with them in my own rate booking business.

And I also have a high opinion of Bilt. Their Bilt Mastercard does not have an annual fee card, and it allows you to earn points by paying free rent (up to $50,000 per year) and earn double points for travel and triple points for dining – plus on the first day of each month, those earning values double for ” Rental day.”

Each Bilt point can be spent at 1.25 cents each to travel through their portal or be transferred 1:1 to:

  • Star Alliance: Air Canada Aeroplan, Turkish Miles & Smiles, United Airlines MileagePlus
  • a world: American AAdvantage, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus
  • Air Team: Air France-KLM Flying Blue
  • Non-Alliance: Emirates Skywards, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles, Aer Lingus Aer Club
  • Hotels: Hyatt, IHG Rewards

With these great options they have American and Both United and Hyatt and unique high-value partners like Turks – don’t redeem your Bilt points at Amazon!

This new search capability, which Point.me integrates into the Bilt app, is huge for introducing the ability to redeem points across all of Bilt’s transfer partners for members who never thought to do so (or even find out) . And offering the meta search function – free of charge – is a real added value.

I suspect it will also be useful to readers, who want to make sure they at least download the Bilt app and pay a little more attention to Bilt Rewards, as this tool makes searching for prizes much easier – for anyone who is American , United, Air Canada, Turkish or many other miles. And by the way, that also makes the Bilt Mastercard better without an annual fee.
